THE ASAP FABRIC CARE GUIDE
How to ensure your premium garments last a lifetime.
Buying high-quality fabric is an investment. To maintain the luster, strength, and fit of your bespoke
clothes, follow these specialized care instructions for each fabric type.
1. Giza & Premium Cottons
Our Giza Rich Cotton is prized for its long-staple fibers. Treat it gently to maintain its silky feel.
• Washing: Machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold or lukewarm water. Use a mild liquid
detergent.
• Bleaching: Never use chlorine bleach; it weakens the natural cotton fibers.
• Drying: Line dry in the shade. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can fade dark colors.
• Ironing: Iron while the fabric is slightly damp using a high-heat setting for a crisp finish.
2. Fine Linens
Linen gets softer with every wash, but it is prone to "stress" if handled roughly.
• Washing: Hand wash or use a delicate machine cycle. Do not crowd the machine—linen
needs space to move.
• Avoid Wringing: Never wring out linen. Roll it in a towel to remove excess moisture.
• Ironing: Use the highest heat setting. To avoid "shine" on dark linens, iron on the reverse
side.
3. Merino Wool & Suiting Fabrics
Suiting fabrics should be cleaned as rarely as possible to maintain their structure.
• Cleaning: Dry Clean Only. High-end wool should never be submerged in water.
• Refreshing: Between wears, use a soft garment brush to remove dust and hair. Hang on a
wide wooden hanger to maintain shoulder shape.
• Resting: Avoid wearing the same wool suit or trousers two days in a row; give the fibers 24
hours to "bounce back" to their original shape.
4. Cotton-Silk BlendsThese fabrics have a delicate sheen that requires extra care.
• Washing: We recommend Dry Cleaning for the first 2-3 washes to lock in the color. If
washing at home, hand wash in cold water with a silk-approved detergent.
• Drying: Lay flat on a clean towel. Never tumble dry.
Pro-Tips for All Fabrics
• The First Wash: For dark-colored unstitched fabrics, we recommend a quick separate hand
wash in cold water with a pinch of salt to "fix" the dye.
• Shrinkage: Most natural fabrics have a 2-3% residual shrinkage. If you are getting it
stitched by your own tailor,we recommend pre-soaking the unstitched fabric in plain water
before giving it to the tailor.
• Storage: Store your premium shirts and suits in a cool, dry place. Use cotton garment bags
rather than plastic, as natural fibers need to "breathe."
